Nick Miller’s Turtle Face
To celebrate the fourth season of New Girl, I’ve created an illustration of Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) making his signature Turtle Face.
New Girl comes on Tuesdays at 9PM EST on FOX!
“If pot were a piano, Nick would be a 9 year old Chinese girl.”
—Schmidt is nothing but loved right now. (via winnie-the-bish)
I do remember and I do wish to discuss! It’s definitely Nick’s room: Schmidt’s bed is on the far wall, perpendicular to Nick’s, so the feet of the bed are closest together. The window’s definitely there, but normally covered up by Nick’s junk. You can see it in the Dance Scene o’ Season-Ending Homey Joy from See Ya.
The caps with Jess should help put it in context, moving from left to right.
I LOVVVVE what the (always genius: remember the tin garden party?!) set designers are doing here, having Nick and Schmidt’s very disparate environments bump up against each other. Check out Schmidt’s bedtop throw pillows stacked on Nick’s desk chair(!). And I can’t wait to see more: the room, the living dynamic, the squabbles, where Nick sleeps when Schmidt is entertaining his Dicey friends. Bunk beds would have been hilarious but we get that in the flashbacks and this is delightfully believable.
I always find it so amusing that Nick has a Coachella poster above his bed, and yet I really really cannot imagine him to be the type. Anyway, loving this analysis, and also forever curious how it’s going to work out with all the sex-havings and all :/
is no one going to question nicks love for his glamor shot, i mean he has a SHRINE for it.
NICK: Daddy’s here to take care of you. I’m gonna guide you through it.
CECE: And Mommy’s got nothing to do this afternoon so I’m gonna bake some damn brownies so we can all freak out.
Nobody knows we’re stoned. If we didn’t go, then they would…
